Ragus and its founder, Charles Eastick, occupy a unique position in the industry. Not only has the company been refining sugars and syrups for over 80 years, the Eastick family has registered more than 11 sugar refining patents since 1880.
Charles Eastick came to prominence in 1882 as a chemist for Abraham Lyle & Sons, where he and his brother John helped formulate one of the world's favourite sugar products, Golden Syrup.
