British Grand Prix Venue Provides Treacherous Conditions

Tricky conditions at Sunday’s Silverstone 3 hours saw the two time Le Mans 24 Hours winning team finish 34th overall. The race was the second outing in the pan European Blancpain Endurance Series following April’s opening round in Monza, Italy.
The team’s choice of set up saw the Barwell Motorsport run BMW Z4 GT3 qualify in a lowly 42nd out of 50 cars field.
At the pitstop after 55 minutes the car remained in 42nd position, but a 70 minute stint saw Ollie Millroy lapping faster than the leading cars, overtaking 23 cars and pitted in 19th place with 55 minutes of the race remaining. The last driver change, with new tyres and a greasy track saw the Ecurie Ecosse car leave the track and collecting a lot of grass in the front radiator. An enforced pit stop resulting in a pit lane speeding offence meant a drive through penalty, dropping the car to 34th place at the finish.
The team head to Rockingham in the UK for the British GT round on 9th & 10th of June and Brands Hatch on 23rd & 24th June.
